<span style="color: #666666; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Nikon's most junior DSLR recommendation gets a lift with the D3400

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">As far back as its famous D40 show in 2006, Nikon has done well to disassemble the possibility of a DSLR waiting be an extensive, lumbering machine. Obviously, from that point forward the organization has discharged many much more minimal mirrorless 1-series cameras went for a lesser group of onlookers, in spite of the fact that it's kept up its balance in the passage level DSLR part with a large number of conservative and simple to-utilize options for those in the wake of something more customary.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">For various years, Nikon has part these into two camps. The D5xxx series has displayed an agreeable however sensibly capable answer for those needing to start DSLR photography, yet have some additional developing space as they turn out to be more sure, while the D3xxx series has clung to a nitty gritty format, one that organizes little size, light weight and a straightforward outline, at the same time keeping up the advantages of an interchangable-focal point framework.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The D3400 is Nikon's most recent commitment to the last series, and a follow-up to the D3300. Not just has the organization figured out how to shave a tad bit of the D3300's weight off the body for this new cycle, but on the other hand it's helped its battery life and enhanced various components to make it a mightier suggestion for the tenderfoot client. It's additionally propelled the camera nearby an upgraded unit focal point, one that games a retractable internal barrel and a more streamlined outline that shuns the centering and Vibration Diminishment changes we're accustomed to seeing.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Yet, after such huge numbers of warmly got models and a heap of fine rivals in both DSLR and mirrorless classes, does the D3400 have enough taking the plunge to make it worth the amateur's consideration?

O stands for Oreo

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">We definitely knew this adaptation of Google's product would be called Android 8, yet addresses stayed over the sweet treat the inquiry goliath would choose while changing from Android O to its full name.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Oreo was the most famous decision in front of the name declaration, with the last name being (ta-da!) Android Oreo.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Android Oreo release date

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Let's be honest, what you truly need to know is when Android Oreo will land on your Android gadget – and that all relies upon the gadget you have.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Google will start to drive the update out on August 21, 2017 and those of you with a Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C or even a Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X can expect a practically instant update to show up in your notice bar once Android Oreo is authoritatively discharged.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Be that as it may, those with Android gadgets from any semblance of Sony, Samsung, LG, HTC, Huawei, Respect, OnePlus, Motorola and co. will probably have a little while – if not months – before your separate maker gets their product all together.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Why does it take so long? All things considered, not at all like the Pixel and Nexus gadgets which are made by/for Google, different producers add their own touches to Android, which expects them to re-build each new programming discharge before they can push it to you. This takes time, and infrequently quite a while.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Get extraordinary video multitasking

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">You can watch a film, or stay in a video talk, while utilizing different apps
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It may not be a totally new component, as it's something we saw path back with the Samsung Universe S3 and World S4, however now Picture-in-Picture mode is prepared into the foundations of Android.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This implies you'll have the capacity to pop a video screen, (for example, YouTube or a video talk) out of its application and into a littler board on screen, enabling you to keep on using your phone while watching out for the activity.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">So it's not the most extraordinary advancement, but rather those with bigger screen gadgets – we're taking a gander at the 6-inch+ smartphones and tablet clients – will probably welcome the more noteworthy flexibility and multitasking this mode offers.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Perceptible notifications

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Not at all like the iOS implementation however, the specks on the application symbols don't give you a tally of what number of notifications you have – you'll need to long press to get that data.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Google is acquainting warning spots with apps in Oreo, enabling you to rapidly observe what's going on without opening up the application – or swipe down the notice bar.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">They work comparably to Apple's 3D Touch empowered air pocket pop-ups, and give you details about the notifications you have.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A little shaded circle will show up in the upper right of an application symbol to tell you there are notifications for that specific application, and a long press will see a fly up show, indicating you more data.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">In the event that designers decide to, you might have the capacity to activity some of these notifications, for example, answering to a remark or forming an email, coordinate from the pop up without the need to wander into the application.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Double (2x) Speed

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Google's done an entire heap of work in the engine to make Android 8 the quickest cycle of its mobile platform ever.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Truth be told, Google asserts that Android Oreo will have the capacity to stack apps and boot up at up to double the speed of Android Nougat – which should bring about substantially slicker operation.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">We're particularly ideally this upgrade will enhance execution on less expensive gadgets as well, possibly giving them another rent of life.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Longer Battery Life

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It's the one thing that will without a doubt charm all Android clients – a straightforward, free programming update that will enhance their gadget's battery life.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This isn't the first run through Google has asserted another update will convey enhanced battery execution, and it merits taking with a squeeze of salt as results can change contingent upon that handset you have.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Google says Android Oreo is more intelligent with regards to giving apps a chance to keep running out of sight, lessening the measure of energy and memory they go through and leaving more for you to use in the tasks you're as of now performing.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

More Emoji's to Use

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">There's no making tracks in an opposite direction from the way that emoji are solidly dug in our everyday interchanges – they've even got their own particular motion picture for the love of all that is holy – and Google is conferring itself to the most recent increments of the consistently expanding emoji family in Android Oreo.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Android more often than not falls behind that of Apple's iOS with regards to giving clients the freshest emoji, so the consideration of the most recent pontoon of articulations, creatures and articles –, for example, hurling, pixie, mermaid, giraffe and wizard – will probably enchant Generation Z (the Homeland Generation). There are more than 60 new emoji altogether.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">And as though that wasn't sufficient, Google is likewise updating its whole emoji catalog - so watch out for the new look when Android 8 lands on your gadget (read: things look more iOS).
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

Funky app icons

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">With Google urging you to associate more with application symbols -, for example, long squeezing to get the notice fly up - it's likewise furnishing developers with instruments to make these cooperations only a smidgen more fun.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">As the activity above shows, application symbols could wake up when you collaborate with them, or look through landing page screens, and while it won't change the world it's a possibly pleasant element and one we're keen on observing what cool things developers can do with it.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The Google Pixel XL does practically everything right. Its metal body is well-manufactured and simple to grasp, and its spec sheet is as yet fit, including a Snapdragon 821 and 4GB of Smash driving its 5.5-inch QHD show.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Be that as it may, the Pixel XL truly puts forth its defense as an extraordinary telephone since Google claims both the equipment and the product. Indeed, even as well as can't be expected accomplish what Google hosts with its first-get-together powerhouse. It's quick, perfect and exquisite to use with Google's applications and administrations. The drawback is the Pixel can't coordinate the others as far as crude elements.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">At that point there's the camera, which keeps on being truly outstanding in the business in such a large number of circumstances, helped along by Google's model electronic adjustment that gives you sleek video recording.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The LG G6 uses a tall 18:9 display and modest bezels (hello, it even turned out before the Galaxy S8) to give you a bigger screen in a smaller body. The all-new metal-and-glass design may not be completely inspired, but rather it's fabricated incredibly well and incorporates lots of little features — like waterproofing — to enable it to hold up after some time.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The greater part of the interior specs you expect are here, despite the fact that the battery isn't removable like its predecessors. The one downside here is provincial differences: the higher-quality Quad DAC is exclusive to Asia, while wireless charging is just for the North American market.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">LG's dual camera setup has returned yet with a refined emphasis on the wide-point camera so it packs the same sensor as the standard camera. The primary camera takes fantastic photos to run toe-to-toe with the best of them, and the wide-point shooter adds in something that no other telephone offers.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Bottom line: This is LG's best flagship telephone to date, and going a step advance it's one that comes in at a prominently bring down cost — around $500 now — than the Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel XL.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">One more thing: Shop around a bit before purchasing, as various retailers and carriers can have changing estimating schemes.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">HTC is back at the best contending with the enormous names following a couple of years where its flagships just weren't up to speed. The HTC U11 is an awesome general telephone that has taken after industry trends and furthermore executed truly well on them.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

At the point when seen from the back you recover an excellent shining glass that is genuinely exceptional. Around front it's more exhausting, however the 5.5-inch QHD display is strong — and the unique mark sensor is sensibly situated beneath the screen.

The best case of HTC turning things around is its camera — the 12MP sensor gets all the equipment right, and furthermore has the processing to take best-in-class photos.

Inside you get the greater part of the correct stuff, with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, a sufficiently major 3000mAh battery and finish waterproofing. The one thing missing? A headphone jack on the bottom.

Bottom line: The U11 is an extraordinary all-around telephone at a reasonable $650 value that should be considered in the same domain as other high-end options.

One more thing: This is the main telephone on this list without a headphone jack — be prepared to use Bluetooth or the included USB-C connector.

Nokia needs to especially feature the camera tech on this telephone and it's no big surprise, as it would seem that a great setup. Much like the greater part of the significant telephones in 2017, Nokia has settled on a double sensor here that utilizations two 13MP shooters.

One is a RGB focal point and the other is a monochrome shooter and the two consolidate their pictures to offer better photographs in low light. You can likewise shoot from only one of the lenses on the off chance that you wish, however you'll likely just need to utilize the monochrome one to do this, as it considers genuine channel free highly contrasting shots.

Anker, an American accessories maker, has been honing its "anything you can do, I can do cheaper" business display for a considerable length of time, however hitherto has limited itself to things like Bluetooth speakers, earphones and compact charging packs with the occasional mobile phone case tossed in.

However, its current item declaration, a savvy speaker with Alexa integration that looks (and functions) like an Amazon Echo Dot, might take the copycat cake.

Anker's Amazon-lookalike device is known as the Eufy Genie. It's a little, round device similar to the Amazon Echo Dot that accompanies Alexa built-in however sounds better (at any rate according to Anker) and will cost even not as much as Amazon's entrance level savvy home device, coming in at only $49.99.

Like the Echo Dot, the Eufy Genie's Alexa is continually listening, awaiting summons to control the music, keep an eye on the status of shrewd home appliances and ordering items from Amazon.

What makes the Genie a decent arrangement is the way that it can interface with any device the Amazon Echo Dot can because of its built-in Alexa bolster. That list includes devices like the Amazon Fire television, Ecobee4 Smart Indoor regulator, Samsung SmartThings Center point, Philips Hue Smart Bulbs and dozens more.

The Genie has one trick up its sleeve that the standard Echo Dot does not, nonetheless, and that is the ability to interface with other Eufy devices – Anker's homebrew image of smart devices.

The list of Eufy devices isn't extraordinarily long, yet on it you'll find items like the Robovac 11 Vacuum Cleaner, BodySense Smart Scale, Humos Air Dehumidifier and, soon, a series of lights and smart outlets.

It'll undoubtedly be touted as a substantially more secure item for this very reason. However, it'll additionally still push the envelope with a specs update over the Galaxy S8.

We hope to see a substantial 6.4-inch screen, which would make it essentially greater than the 5.7-inch show on earlier Note telephones and somewhat greater than the 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 In addition to.

This is what we don't expect: a greater battery (for evident reasons), we're as yet timid on a 4K show and home catch underneath the glass.

The Asus Zenfone AR cost has been uncovered as £799 for the UK as pre-orders for the expanded reality centered handset open.

It's positively not modest, but rather the Zenfone AR is the main cell phone to pack in Google's Venture Tango smarts with enough power for you to take full preferred standpoint of the innovation.

We've just observed the innovation in the Lenovo Phab 2 Genius, yet that exclusive got a constrained discharge and didn't have the power in the engine to truly get Venture Tango going.

The AR tech permits the Zenfone AR to deal with movement following, region learning and profundity observation, enabling it to examine your environment and after that apply designs, amusements and intelligent components specifically onto what you can see around you.

It accomplishes this by utilizing three cameras on the back of the handset, a movement following, profundity detecting, and high-determination 23MP camera, with the last the one you'd use to snap standard photographs in the camera application.

It packs the more seasoned Snapdragon 821 chipset (which you'll likewise discover in the LG G6), a forceful 6GB of Smash, 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED show, 23MP back camera, 8MP front snapper, 64GB or 128GB of capacity, microSD space and a 3,300mAh battery.

There's a part of me that doesn't understand why Apple gets the amount of interest it does with something like the iPhone SE. It's a phone that's in an identical chassis to the one released three years ago, and beyond a new color it's impossible to know which model is which. It's the iPhone 'Special Edition'.

Then I look around the train carriage on the way to work and count the amount of iPhone 5S and 5 devices that are being prodded quietly all around. The number is staggering, and it easily dwarfs the amount of iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S handsets on show.

Has Apple been smart here? Looked at the way people are using phones and released there's a massive market for a certain form factor - one that's not only not being serviced in the iWorld, but in the smartphone arena in general?

The iPhone SE is a phone that many might not have expected - in truth, we thought the iPhone 5C would get a reboot, with the plastic chassis coming in a more rounded, 6S-a-like shape and allowing Apple to offer a lower-cost phone that could be pushed to other territories where flagship phones don't sell as well.

But instead we got a hark back to a long-forgotten era in smartphones, like Apple slit time in two and pulled a phone back through, and charged US$399 (£359, AU$679) for the 16GB model, and US$499 (£439, $AU829) for the 64GB option for the privilege.

The question of price is more important here than ever before. By launching a 4-inch phone, no matter how fancy the internals are, consumers will expect it to be a little cheaper - and thankfully that's what Apple has done.
Android 's upcoming version 4.4 KitKat
seems to have an odd name after
Jelly Bean. It was thought to be
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Google
suddenly unveils Android 4.4 with a
statue at their HQ. The next-
generation OS version may run Nexus
5 and Nexus 11. Are Nexus 5 and
Nexus 11 waiting for Android 4.4?

Android 4.4 KitKat Release Date

Back in May 2013, during the Google
I/O event, lots of people expected
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie which was
somehow introduced via slideshow
wherein Android is having a slice of
key lime pie. Unfortunately, Google
confirmed nothing about Android 5.0
or hardware details of the next-
generation Nexus phone.

Rumours have flooded the idea of
"Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie coming in
October 2013" to represent the
Google's Android anniversary.
However, the new OS version would
be the Android 4.4 KitKat which will
feature new things and changes to
the Android ecosystem.

Nexus 5 and Nexus 11 Waiting Sign

At first, Nexus 5 was thought to be
running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with
LG to be its manufacturer. Then
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was out and
running on Nexus 7. They year 2013
then pushed among manufacturers to
have their devices updated.
Google might be planning a big bang
event in October after Apple's grand
iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in
September 2013. The main topic
would probably be Android 4.4 KitKat
which will be a demonstration by
Nexus 5 and Nexus 11 that are both
rumoured to be launched this year.
Nexus 5 rumoured technical
The HTC one is a powerful and beautiful device which runs on Android 4.1.2 (upgrade to 4.2.2 now available). It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset powered by a 2300 m Ah nonremovable battery. There are lots of flagship cellular devices in the market but the HTC one, for me at least, comes closest to fulfilling the important and necessary criteria of a modern cellular device. And here are some reasons why you won’t regret investing in the HTC one and why this device has blown my mind:

Slick Design
If you chart out and bring every mobile device in history, you will notice that the HTC one looks the most evolved and most efficient to work in that one palm of yours. It is 137.4 mm long, 68.2 mm across and only 9.3 mm thick. The back slightly protrudes at the central axis which gives the phone a vague semicircle appearance on the back, but it tapers at the sides to give you the 9.3 mm. This makes holding the phone easy and it increases grip.

Power House
Powered by a Li-Po 2300 battery, the device has four separate cores and gigahertz of 1.7 at your command. This makes multi tasking a very smooth and easy experience. Personally I have found that lags are nil or minimal in the HTC one. The RAM memory is 2 GB and with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset. A powerful phone indeed!

Camera
Do not be fooled by its 4 MP tag. The camera uses fewer but larger pixels on a sensor that's the same size as the 8 or 13 MP units. HTC has coined the concept of “Ultrapixels” to describe this. It has a fast F2.0 lens which offers an optical image stabilization system. This catches more light and makes the device ideal in low light imaging conditions.
The front camera/ secondary camera have a MP of 2.1 but also with 1080 p shooting capacity. And when it comes to video recording both the front and rear camera has 1080 p full HD video recording feature.
Additional features of the camera include: smile detection, object removal and sequence shot, the sequence-shot pictures can later be edited to form a single picture (another remarkable feature of the camera of HTC one) so that a different moments of capture is in one single picture.
The new HTC Zoe feature makes small videos/movies out of your pictures, which could be a fun option to have if you get bored with swiping your fingers to check your pictures.

Display
A 4.7-inch 1080p Full-HD screen with a pixel density of 446 pixels per inch, rivaled by few and unmatched by any smart phone to date. It features a Super LCD 3 capacitive touchscreen. The display of the screen is spectacular, the images and colors are vibrant and crisp. Detail to colors and images are hauntingly magnificent. Personally, watching movies or playing games on a handset has never been more fun and satisfactory.
Durable
Besides doing really well on drop tests by third-party reviewers, the uni-body case of the HTC one gives it a strong and tough built which is one reason the battery can’t be removed from the back.
While holding the phone it feels slim and comfortable but also tough and rugged, it has a firm built quality about it. It feels like it can take a certain amount of damage if accidents are to occur, which is necessary a smart phone. Also the entire body is made from aluminum so if you drop this phone a couple of times by mistake then rest easy because it can take it.

Boom Sound
“Dual frontal stereo speakers powered by built-in amplifiers deliver bigger sound with less distortion and more detail.” HTC
The front dual speakers takes you to a whole another dimension of sound enjoyment, you must experience the richness of this device. If you compare the audio with any other phone you will notice the difference. HTC one gives large and rich sound quality. It has good bass engineered with Beats Audio. Whether you like blasting away your music or love it in your headphones, HTC one sound engineering won’t let it get in the way of your rich music experience. The device has a volume large enough for a small crowd in a quiet room, which in my opinion is quite rare in many modern-day smartphones. This of course goes without saying that volume is exceedingly good enough for one person.
Please know also-that the HTC one is not a perfect device. And not everybody will like the device in the way I like or in the way I dislike it. The battery is non-removable and you don’t have the option of switching memory SD cards as you don’t have access to the slot. Because of the aluminum the device is quick to heat up during times of overuse which can make handling a little difficult. And for those people who like using the power/screen lock button with their thumb the placement is a bit awkward and even uncomfortable.

But even with these points against the HTC one, it is the best device to date to have come close to fulfilling the criteria of a modern smart phone. I feel that it provides me with the 'whole experience'. I am convinced that the pros far outweigh the cons. I think HTC one deserves a place in the pocket of all lovers of modern handsets.

Introduction
The Samsung Galaxy Fame is a
phone that comes with a celebrity
name, but certainly no celebrity
price tag. Available SIM-free and
unlocked from around £180/US$200
and free on UK contracts starting as
low as £10 per month, the Samsung
Galaxy Fame will certainly not drain
your bank balance.

It is unsurprising that Samsung has
the most prolific smartphone sales
figures. With Galaxy devices as
numerous as stars in the night sky
spanning every corner of the market,
from the highest end
Samsung Galaxy S4 and announced
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, the
super-sized Samsung Galaxy Note 2
right through to the ageing Samsung
Galaxy S3 before hitting the lowest
ends with the Samsung Galaxy Fame
and the Samsung Galaxy Young.

This puts it square in contention with
the Samsung Galaxy Young, the
ageing Samsung Galaxy Ace and
Samsung Galaxy Y , as well as the
newer LG Optimus L3 2 and Nokia
Lumia 520 .

Samsung has clearly got a design
ethos in mind, one that has been
apparent since the Galaxy S3. The
Samsung Galaxy S3 was far curvier
than its predecessor, with its
successor following very much in its
footsteps.

The Samsung Galaxy Fame is not a phone that will live forever, and it
hasn't quite learned to fly. It is clear from the very outset that Samsung has used
the ingredients to create a lower-end
smartphone, such as the smaller
internal chipset, the smaller screen
and the low internal storage.

In doing so the Samsung Galaxy
Fame, in a continuation of the
Samsung Galaxy range's design,
feels a little underpowered. The feel
of the Samsung Galaxy Fame, with
the TouchWiz interface and external
design, is reminiscent of the
Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung
Galaxy S3 Mini , and makes you want
to see it as a more expensive
handset.
The smaller chipset generally nipped
along fairly well when swiping
between home screens, but when
waking up to the camera or loading
slightly larger apps, the Samsung
Galaxy Fame struggled really quite
noticeably, to the point where we
were feeling rather frustrated.

We can see the Samsung Galaxy
Fame selling a fair few units,
especially given its super low price
tag, and we don't see that as a bad
thing, given that the majority of users
will likely be young, and wanting a
way of connecting to Facebook, but
for anything more substantial, the
handset really struggles.
Next Xperia variant might be on track
for July 4 reveal

Ever since Sony announced its
Xperia Z Android phone, the
Japanese manufacturer has been
busy building up the brand with
tablets and phablets alike.

While releasing the Xperia Tablet Z
and the Xperia Z Ultra could hardly
be seen as over-saturation, Sony
might not be done with the Xperia
variants just yet.
Back in April, we heard the first
rumblings of a new handset dubbed
"Honami" alongside reports of the
Togari, which went on to become the
Xperia ZU.

Then just a few days ago, more
signs Sony was readying a new
Xperia were spotted when pics of the
supposed Honami, now called the
Xperia i1, made a showing, and
revealed a possible 20MP camera
attached to the device.

On Friday, yet another set of entirely
different images were discovered by
Just Another Mobile Phone Blog,
hinting that the Xperia i1 may soon
join the Xperia clan.

#Alternative Xperia-once

Though no new spec information was
given, the pictures do give the
rumored device a bit more grounding
in reality.

The dedicated camera button on the
Xperia i1 sets it apart from the
Xperia ZU, and you can definitely
see a different camera lens on the
rear of the device than the one found
on the Xperia Z.

It's still believed this will be a 20MP
lens, which would give Sony's
smartphone a leg up on the
competition, at least until the oft-
rumored 41MP Nokia Lumia 1020
arrives on the scene.

Earlier rumors suggested the Xperia
i1 would include a 5-inch, 1080p
display, 2.3GHz quad-core
Qualcomm processor, and a
Walkman audio chip, but those specs
have yet to be substantiated.
It's also been suggested that the
smartphone would used Android
4.2.2 Jelly Bean, feature 2GB RAM,
include a a battery between
2,700-3,000mAh, and like the other
Xperia devices, it too would be
water- and dust-proof.
Sony is planning a July 4 event in
France, and there's a strong chance
the Xperia i1 could be the star of that
show, meaning we could be adding a
new branch to the Xperia family tree
very soon.

Starting at $9,600 (with design variants that hike the price up to nearly $20,000), this ridiculous mobile phone will do little to tempt discerning shoppers. If you're curious as to what nearly $10,000 worth of smartphone gets you however, then read on.

Design
Looking like a prop from a bad science fiction serial, the Ti lacks the demure styling of the iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3, instead opting for all-out glam. This translates into leather wrapped around the body of the phone, glossy chromatic metal edging, and an angular logo badge atop the screen, which makes the Ti look like it's permanently frowning. On the back there's a chunky module that houses the Ti's 8-megapixel camera and an LED flash.

Vertu boasts that its choice of pricey materials make the Ti practically indestructible. The titanium case, the company claims, is roughly five times tougher than the cases around most cell phones, and flexes less than 1mm when a 500 Newton force is applied.

That's handy if you often find your phone slipping out of your hands, but bear in mind that for a device that's five times more durable than rival mobile devices, you will be dropping down more than 10 times as much cash. Ouch.

Vertu also claims that the Ti's sapphire-crystal screen was thoroughly tested, with a single drop of a 110g ball bearing, in fact -- an experiment I can't see anyone who spends this much on a mobile phone hurrying to replicate. Beyond knowing that your display is several degrees sturdier and fancier than anyone's in the room, however, I suspect there's little real benefit in this panel when it comes to using the touch screen or in terms of picture quality.

Concierge, and Android software
Buying the Ti does net you access to Vertu's white-glove Concierge service, which puts a real-life human on speed-dial for tasks like booking travel tickets or accommodation. Two other Vertu apps are touted: Life, which offers articles and tailored information that Vertu thinks will suit you (perhaps selected editorial from What Palace and Doric Column), and Certainty, which sounds like a cloud storage service for backing up your phone. All three of these fancy-pants services are summoned by tapping the ruby button on the back of the phone.

The Ti is powered by Android, giving you access to thousands of apps via Google Play, and home screens on which to plant widgets and organize apps. Unfortunately the Ti runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, rather than 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest edition. As such you'll miss out on treats like Photo Sphere and Google Now -- a service that provides information based on factors such as your location and search history.

Not-so high-end hardware
The behind-the-curve features don't end with older Android software, as the Ti is stuffed with components that would see the LG Nexus 4 stifling a grin. You get a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, rather than the quad-core chips that are becoming standard in dramatically cheaper smartphones, and a screen that's smaller than the iPhone 5's.

As well as the 8-megapixel camera on the back (which nabs 1080p video capture), there's a 1.2-megapixel snapper on the front, for video chats with your butler or yacht crew.

Vertu's made room for 64GB of storage inside this phone, however, which is a healthy amount. When you're paying this much, plenty of space for your movies and music is the least you'd expect, though. NFC is also along for the ride, but while this contactless technology has potential and could soon be used to make mobile payments in shops, there's not a great deal you can do with it currently.

Sky-high prices

The Ti starts at $9,600 for the black leather version you can see above, though if you want something really luxurious, there are even more-costly iterations available: $11,500 gets you a "Pure Black" model, and a "Black Alligator" option sets you back $12,800. At the very top of the range is a "Titanium Red Gold Mixed Metals" offering, which costs an eye-watering $19,900. Note that paying more only gets you pricier materials, while the specifications stay the same.

Hands-on

I can verify first hand that the Ti feels quite heavy to hold, likely as a result of all the materials crammed into its chassis. It's chunky too, and is a lot thicker than oh-so-slim mobiles like the iPhone 5. To its credit, while the processor isn't the fastest in the West, the Ti doesn't feel sluggish to use, with menus and apps loading with a pleasing snap.

In the flesh this phone does look -- and feel -- luxurious, thanks to plenty of glistening metal detail and sturdy build quality. It exudes opulence, but glittering jewels and alligator skin won't satisfy those craving a simple, demure smart phone, and the ostentatious look of this phone could put potential buyers off just as quickly as the high price tag.

Would you ever pay thousands of dollars for a phone, or do you find the current crop of top-tier mobiles more than expensive enough already? Fee free to voice your opinion in the comments section.

Panasonic Eluga P with

Panasonic unveiled an HTC One
competitor in Japan – it's called
Eluga P P-03E and it's for DoCoMo.
The Panasonic Eluga P is an
Android 4.2 phone with a 4.7"
1080p screen, which is optimized
for one-handed operation.

The screen can detect a hovering
finger for a feature called Touch
assist that is very similar to
Samsung's Air Gestures. The phone
also features gestures to improve
usability with one hand (a zoom
slider in the browser, an upward
swipe to bring content from the
top of the screen into reach,
etc.).

The Panasonic Eluga P P-03E is
powered by a Snapdragon 600
chipset with a quad-core Krait 300
CPU at 1.7GHz. It also packs a
13.4MP camera and a 2,600mAh
battery.

The Eluga P a bit thicker than the
HTC One – it measures 132 x 65 x
10.9 – but weighs about the same,
146g. Better still, it has an IP57
certification making it water
resistant (up to 1m for 30
minute).

The Eluga P supports NFC,
Miracast, MHL, it has a barometer
and an IR blaster, plus Japan-
specific features like FeliCa and
Seg.

The Panasonic Eluga P P-03E will
launch on NTT DoCoMo in late
June. It's not clear if this phone
will have an international version.

Just like the Xperia Z, the Xperia
ZR is waterproof and dust-
resistant. This time, Sony is not
just advertising the fact that the
Xperia ZR can survive underwater
but that you can actually use it
there, particularly for taking 13
megapixel pictures and full HD
videos with the camera and
dedicated shutter button.

The Xperia ZR has a 4.55-inch,
1280 x 720 resolution LCD. Sony is
using its BRAVIA Engine 2, along
with something called
OptiContrast panel. This basically
gets rid of the extra touchscreen
layer by integrating the touch
sensor on the panel itself, which
improves image quality and makes
the display assembly thinner.

Other features include a 1.5GHz
quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragonc
APQ8064, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal
memory with microSD card slot and
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Sony Xperia ZR is expected to
go on sale around the world in Q2,
2013.

Extend your tablet's storage with
this portable Wi-Fi hard drive

# Like:
Built-in battery and Wi-fi; Can
act as NAS drive; USB 3.0; Good
performance

# Dislike:
No internet sharing from
hotspot; No remote access

Despite Apple recently adding a
128GB option to the iPad 4, storage
space on iOS devices is still a
problem for people who love to
watch HD movies on the go.
The Corsair Voyager Air is a 1TB
external hard drive (there's also a
cheaper 500GB model) that can
connect to your iOS device over Wi-
Fi, letting you watch video, view
photos and open other files stored
on it, leaving the storage on your
device free to be used for apps and
games.
You can load files from your
computer onto the Voyager Air using
a USB port, or by plugging it into
your home network using k
Ethernet port, making it act like
normal network storage, so any
computer can access or load files. It
also acts as a media server, letting
you watch videos on compatible
games consoles and set-top boxes.
Here, we'll concentrate on the iOS
support. This hard drive is most
useful on the go, thanks to its
built-in battery and the ability to
create its own Wi-Fi hotspot.
To access the Voyager Air from your
iPhone or iPad, you'll need to
download the accompanying free app,
which will detect the unit and
connect, provided you're connected
directly to its Wi-Fi hotspot. The
app won't detect the Voyager Air
through your home network, sadly.
Still, it means that wherever you
are, you can just flick on the
Voyager Air's Wi-Fi switch and then
connect to your iPad in the Settings
app.
The battery is rated for around
seven hours, which isn't brilliant,
but should be good enough for most
purposes. The Voyager Air comes
with both a mains and car charger
though, so it isn't a problem to top
it up (but bear in mind that it
doesn't charge from a computer
when connected through the USB 3.0
cable).
Connecting to it is simple, and the
app immediately shows you all the
files and folders stored on it.
There's no media sorting (letting
you just view, say, videos) or
search function, so hi need to
make sure that you organise
everything into tidy folders.
The app isn't the prettiest, but it
does its job well, and up to five
devices can access it at once. Files
and videos that iOS supports natively
can be viewed right in the app, so
you can watch movies, browse
photos and read some documents.
All movies we tried (including high-
quality 1080p videos) played
smoothly with no obvious
deterioration from being streamed;
photos looked good, though the app
struggled with rotation, displaying
some sideways or upside-down.
For files and even video types that
aren't supported by iOS, you can use
the Open With command in Corsair's
app to send these files to a
different app that's capable of
reading them. So you can open MKV
or AVI videos in AVPlayer, open
spreadsheets in Excel, or open text
documents for editing in the likes of
Pages.

*Verdict

There are some other features we
feel the Voyager Air is missing -
internet sharing over Ethernet and
remote access most of all, though
the latter is planned in an update -
but on the whole, it's the most
capable external storage for iOS
we've seen yet. It's not cheap, but
for those who want to have a
library of HD video available for
The pricing and availability comes as
a pleasant surprise as Samsung has
managed to impress on both fronts.
In comparison, the Galaxy S4's main
rival HTC One is priced at Rs. 42,990
($792) and is yet to go on sale
despite being announced earlier this
month. Even the iPhone 5 is
currently priced at Rs. 45,500 ($838)
for the 16GB model (although dealers
are selling it for a bit less). The Rs.
41,500 price is the MRP, so expect it
to be a bit lower in stores.
The model sold in India is the I9500
model that runs on the Samsung
Exynos 5 Octa 5410 SoC, with four
1.6GHz Cortex A15 cores and four
1.2GHz Cortex A7 cores packed on a
single chip. Along with that it also
has the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU,

The HTC Titan II is the
manufacturer's latest flagship
Windows Phone on AT&T, and while
it may arguably have the best
hardware among Windows Phones,
it's overshadowed by the Nokia
Lumia 900 that launched on the
same day. For those of you who
are willing to look beyond the
Lumia 900, and don't mind spending
a bit more up front, the Titan II
might just have a perfect storm
of features: an impressive 4.7"
Super LCD display, LTE 4G and a 16
megapixel camera with backside
illuminated sensor. That's right:
16MP in a US camera phone. And
yes, it takes awesome photos.
Much of Windows Phone 7.5 specs
are written in stone thanks to
Microsoft's requirements. The
phone runs on a 1.5GHz
Snapdragon S2 single core CPU, it
has 512 megs of RAM, 16 gigs of
storage and an 800 x 480
capacitive display. The CPU type,
RAM and resolution are MS
requirements. Manufacturers can
use the cameras, display size and
storage allotment of their
The Titan II has a front
1.3MP video chat camera that
works with Tango and Skype Beta
for video calls and it has the
usual WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth
2.1 + EDR and a GPS that works
with Bing Maps and AT&T
Navigator.
Design and Ergonomics: Unibody
Elegance
The 6.2 ounce Titan II has HTC's
popular and proven unibody design.
It looks elegant, classy,
understated and it has a little
flair--a curved chin and curved
glass. The phone's casing is mostly
aluminum, with plastic over the
antenna area. There are no
creaks here, no ugly seams and
the back has a rubbery soft touch
feel though it looks like metal. The
gray metallic color changes as you
move the phone, and a small door
at the bottom has a stippled
texture to improve grip. That door
covers the full size SIM card slot;
there's no access to the 1730 mAh
Phones, it has no microSD card
slot.
Despite the huge 4.7" display, the
Titan II is barely bigger than the
4.3" Nokia Lumia 900 and it weighs
about the same. It's actually
lighter than the original Titan.
We're impressed with HTC's design
skills: somehow they managed to
make a 4.7" phone that's close to
the size of the Lumia 900 and 4.5"
Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket .
The headphone jack and power
button are up top and the micro
USB sync/charge port is on the
left side. The volume controls and
dedicated camera button are on
the right. The controls work well,
as do the capacitive front
buttons. Despite its size, the
phone feels good in my admittedly
large hand, and I appreciate the
curved and tapered sides that
make it more palm-friendly. The
grippy back is another plus.
Calling and Fast LTE 4G Data
Call quality wasn't tops with the
first Titan, released at the end of
2011. We're happy to report that
the Titan II has very good call
quality for both incoming and
outgoing voice, and reception
that's comparable to the very
good Lumia 900. Incoming voice
volume is average while outgoing
voice is very loud (speak softly!).
The phone has LTE 4G on AT&T,
and it falls back to AT&T's also
zippy HSPA+ 21Mbps network that
the carrier also calls 4G
(technically it's part of the 3G
standard, but carriers play loose
and fast with that 4G label).
We're in an LTE coverage area and
speeds are impressive and every
bit as good as our LTE Samsung
Galaxy S II Skyrocket and a tad
faster than the Nokia. We
averaged 19 Mbps down and
5.8Mbps up according to the
"Bandwidth" test app available on
the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The smartphone has the mobile
hotspot feature so you can use it
as a wireless high speed access
point for your laptop or tablet.
This feature is included with
AT&T's 5 gig, $50/month data
plan.

With the Samsung Galaxy S4 now out of the way the door has been thrown open for the Korean firm's other high-end smartphone to get a reboot in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Rumours are beginning to circulate about Samsung's next super-sized handset, suggesting it's going to get even bigger - even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 raised eyebrows with its larger size.

We're constantly on the look out for Galaxy Note 3 news and you'll be able to find all the latest right here. You lucky things.
Announcement and release date

In terms of a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date the trail is pretty cold at the moment with "later this year" all we have to go on for now.

If previous iterations of the handset are anything to go by we can expect Samsung to uncover the third generation Galaxy Note smartphone towards the end of August, in the run up to IFA 2013 in Berlin.

This would mean that the Galaxy Note 3 would probably hit stores around October if previous cycles are maintained - but given the Samsung Galaxy S4 emerged earlier this year, could the same trick be repeated for the Note 3?
More than a pretty penny in price

You can expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to carry a hefty price tag, probably in line with the Galaxy S4 - making it more expensive than its Chinese rivals the ZTE Grand Memo and the Huawei Ascend Mate.

The Note 3 will probably set you back at least £550 (around $800/AU$770) give or take, plus there will be regional variances too.
Does the screen need to get bigger?

Although exact specs are still unknown the general consensus seems to suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will sport an even bigger screen than its 5.5-inch predecessor.

Early reports pointed towards a whopping 6.3-inch display, which would see the handset dwarf the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate and 5.7-inch Grand Memo.

More recently though sources have claimed that the Galaxy Note 3 could actually pack a slightly more modest 5.9-inch AMOLED screen.

However Samsung may have let the cat out of the bag on its own website after listing a smartphone accessory as being compatible with screens from "4- to 6.3-inches", potentially hinting at a massive display bump for the Note 3.

Screen size, then, remains a mystery but that's not the only quandary we have regarding the display on the Galaxy Note 3. Oh no, there are now reports suggesting it will be the first phone to sport a flexible OLED display.

Samsung did show off such a display at CES 2013 - although it wasn't part of a phone at the time and we reckon there's still some way to go before it's ready to hit our handsets, but it certainly gives us food for thought.

Update: We are hearing a lot about the "Samsung Galaxy Mega" range, with leaks suggesting a 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch device may be on the cards.

Could this be Samsung replacing the Note range, or adding more feathers to its super-sized cap?
The operating system conundrum

We can be pretty sure that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will roll up running Google's Android platform, but which particular version that will be is not so black and white.

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is expected to be announced at Google's I/O event in May, potentially alongside the Nexus 5 - which would put the Note 3 in the running to also launch with the latest version of the software.

However if history has taught us anything it's that assuming is for fools - as we've seen numerous handsets launched with older versions of Android - but the Note 2 was one of the first handsets from Samsung to launch with Jelly Bean, so perhaps a Key Lime Pie device isn't so unlikely.
Specs

The big screen won't be the only feature Samsung will want to shout about though, as you can expect the Galaxy Note 3 to be packing some serious tech under the hood.

It could be another industry leading handset (the Note 2 was the most powerful smartphone when it launched) with reports suggesting it will follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S4 with a ridiculous octo-core chip.

As this device will fall into Samsung's "Note" family you can expect the fabled S-Pen to make another appearance here as it looks to rub shoulders with the Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Note 10.1.

Update: According to Android Geeks a software engineer has spilled the beans on the S Orb camera feature which is apparently destined to debut on the Galaxy Note 3, after reports earlier this year suggested it would arrive on the Galaxy S4.

The BlackBerry Z10 is the first handset from the company formerly known as RIM, now renamed BlackBerry, to run its new operating system BlackBerry 10, and there's much more on the line here than simply making a few pennies – arguably the company's survival rests on the success of this device and the BlackBerry Q10.

It's no secret that BlackBerry has been on the rocks for the past year or so, with the company even admitting that it hasn't been in the best shape of late, and the 4G toting Z10 is the start of what is hoped to be a successful revolution.

Since its launch a few months ago the BlackBerry Z10 has received a software update which has seen things become more stable, plus the app store has also witnessed some new arrivals, so we've taken the time to update the keys parts of our review with the latest information.

In the UK the handset has witnessed a slight price drop since launch and you can pick up the Z10 free on contracts starting at £32 per month, while you'll need to fork out a still princely £470 if you want it SIM-free.

The US was only treated to the BlackBerry Z10 in late March, available for around $199.99 on contract and about $630 SIM-free.

Sporting a 4.2-inch 1280 x 768 display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and its steep price tag, the BlackBerry Z10 finds itself jostling for position with the Nokia Lumia 920, Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5

Lock eyes on the BlackBerry Z10 and you'll notice it's an unassuming slab of black glass and plastic that mimics the general aesthetical design of many a smartphone these days.

The Z10 is a little bezel-heavy with a sizable gap above and below the screen, and that's before we even get to the additional plastic chunks stuck on both ends of the handset.

It all seems a little unnecessary but luckily it doesn't make the BlackBerry Z10 overly cumbersome, with the handset measuring a comfortable 130 x 65.6 x 9mm (5.1 x 2.6 x 0.4 inches).

Weight wise the BlackBerry Z10 finds a happy medium – weighing 137.5g (4.85 oz), it's nowhere near as heavy as the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, yet it's not as feather light as the iPhone 5.

*We liked

The BlackBerry Z10 is a decent all round phone sporting a pleasing 4.2-inch HD display, a camera which can take some good shots and a messaging hub which could be the envy of some other platforms.

Web browsing deserves a special mention as we were seriously impressed with the speed of the BlackBerry Z10 when it came to loading pages.

It's great to see a free mapping and navigation solution on board the Z10, even though it may not be the best service on the market.

The expandable storage, removable battery and Adobe Flash support are all small wins for the Z10 and will help as it tries to stand out in a crowded market.

*We disliked

The jury is still out on BlackBerry 10. On one hand it's great to see an exciting new operating system but on the other it's a completely new learning curve for everyone, and some may not be willing to learn.

BB 10 came across a little confusing a times, with the lack of a clear back button leading us to question how we return to the previous screen, while gestures took some time to fully grasp.

As the BlackBerry Z10 is set to be the flagship phone for BlackBerry and its new BB10 platform, we were a little disappointed with its obviously plastic case, which doesn't exactly exude premium quality.

BlackBerry said that the BB10 keyboard is the best typing experience on a touchscreen smartphone, but we weren't bowled over by the offering on the Z10.

It's a perfectly serviceable option, but in our eyes it doesn't quite hit the mark in the same way as the likes of SwiftKey on Android.

The lack of apps in BlackBerry World will remain a concern until we see the big hitters turn up, while some of the stock BlackBerry 10 apps seemed to lack features such as the camera, music and video applications.

Final verdict

The Z10 is a decent smartphone offering up a strong range of features and a fancy new operating system that may catch the eye of the technologically adventurous.

It does pretty much everything we'd expect from a high-end device and there are no major flaws to go running to the presses about.

That said, the Z10 also lacks any killer selling points. It's hard to find reasons why we'd recommend this over say the iPhone 5, Sony Xperia Z or Nokia Lumia 920 - all of which are around the same price as the Z10.

Things haven't been helped by the Samsung Galaxy S3 getting a healthy price cut after the announcement of the Galaxy S4, meaning the more powerful, bigger screened and featured packed handset is now £100 cheaper than the Z10.

The unproven operating system and severe lack of headlining applications will turn a lot of consumers off at point of sale, and it's the image of the BlackBerry brand as a whole which needs to be worked on fast if it stands a chance of winning back the hearts of the general public.

The BlackBerry Z10 has the weight of a whole company on its plastic shoulders. It's holding up, but we're not sure for how long
